The Food & Agriculture Group of the Australia Indonesia Business Council invites you to an industry event for expanding your trade with Indonesia


Dear Food & Agriculture industry colleague,

Please join us for the inaugural AIBC Food & Agriculture Group information & discussion session.  The session aims to welcome all Food & Agriculture businesses that are either actively trading to Indonesia or with interest to expand their business into Indonesia. 

The session will open with an introduction to the AIBC Food & Agriculture group by Chair, Garry Embleton, followed by a background briefing to IA-CEPA by Leigh Obradovic, before moving to an interactive discussion session, facilitated by Professor Edward Buckingham, where all participants can talk to their experiences trading to Indonesia, the good, the bad and the challenging.  Edward will then go about distilling the discussions to key focus points around areas for improvement in the Australia / Indonesia trade relationship.

The session will include an interactive panel discussion with Q&A and break-out sessions.

Garry Embleton is Operations Director for Ausfine Foods International Pty. Ltd and President Director of PT Ausfine Foods Indonesia.  He has been with Ausfine for 11 years and is in his 32nd year of working in the international trading side of the Australian Dairy Industry.  Through his career he has also been involved in exporting meat, dried fruit, juices and other food products.   Garry is  Chair of AIBC Victoria, and heads up the AIBC Food & Agriculture Group.

Leigh Obradovic has had approximately 20 years’ experience in assisting businesses with international trade, regulatory, taxation and government affairs challenges across the Asia-Pacific region.  He has worked in a range businesses sectors including transport, FMCG, financial technology, manufacturing and agribusiness sectors.

In Indonesia, Leigh has worked with both industry and government on a range of projects including foreign investment, taxation and trade reform.  He has advised representatives of the Australian and Indonesian Governments on trade and investment reforms, including the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) and the ASEAN Economic Community.  He was also an adviser to the Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment (The Hon. Steven Ciobo) during the later stages of the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA CEPA).  Leigh is now Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs for Toll Group.

Professor Edward Buckingham works at Monash Business School where he teaches Strategy, Operations Management, International Business and Business model design to MBA students. Edward first went to Indonesia as a 19 year old undergraduate exchange student and been a fan ever since. After many years in the private sector working in China and France for the Boston Consulting Group, Schlumberger and what is now Clariant, Edward returned to INSEAD, his alma mater, to run their EMBA programmes. For his PhD (London) he researched business practices in Indonesian agribusiness value chains. He appears regularly as an interview guest on the SBS Radio a Bahasa Indonesia service.
