AIBC ACT: Reception for IA-CEPA Negotiating Teams, National Press Club, Canberra

22 Feb 2017 (6:00 pm - 8:00 pm)
National Press Club of Australia
ACT ACT 2600
AIBC Members $35 | Invited Guests $50

Thank you to those who have responded to this event previously. The ACT Branch of the Australia Indonesia Business Council, on behalf of the Australian Members of the Indonesia-Australia Business Partnership Group (ACCI, AIBC and AIG), welcome you to a networking reception with the Australian and Indonesian negotiating teams and an accompanying 50+ delegation comprising Indonesian businesses and a number of Indonesian Government representatives that will be in Canberra for the Sixth Round of the Indonesia Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) negotiations.

The IA-CEPA negotiations commenced in 2013, but slowed for three years until the Australian and Indonesian Trade Ministers made a commitment in March 2016 to focus on concluding the negotiations by end 2017.  The upcoming negotiations will be the fourth round since March 2016, which is an indication of the commitment of both governments to a high quality IA-CEPA that assists trade, investment and the economic development of both countries.

The networking reception provides an excellent opportunity to meet with senior Indonesian business people and the Australian and Indonesian negotiating teams.  The negotiators and visiting delegation will be interested in your views as to how trade and investment can be expanded.  Maybe in your discussions with the negotiating teams during the reception you may have ideas which may assist their deliberations!!

The event will also provide an excellent opportunity for businesses that will be participating in the Indonesia Australia Business Week in Jakarta in early March 2017 to have a good grasp of how the trade and investment negotiations are progressing.

The ACT Branch of the Australia Indonesia Business Council would like to thank Coca-Cola Amatil, EMR Capital, Monash University, Corrs Chambers Westgarth Lawyers and the National Press Club for their support.
