About AIBC
The Australia Indonesia Business Council (AIBC) is a national, non profit business association established to represent the interests of its members in commercial and trade matters between Indonesia and Australia.
We have branches in each state of Australia, in addition to a national
board of directors. Our membership is diverse and includes
well-known well known public companies, professional services (lawyers, accountants, engineers, educational, management consultants), government departments as well as small and medium sized businesses.
The AIBC history goes back to the early 1970s. In 1971, the Australian Indonesia Business Cooperation Committee was formed with the broad aim of promoting business relationships with Indonesia. In 1989, this organisation merged with the Australia Indonesia Chamber of Commerce, to become the AIBC.
Our sister organisation in Indonesia, the Indonesia Australia Business Council (IABC) has a similar history. The DKSPIA (Dewan Kerja Sama Perusahan Indonesia Australia) was active in the 1980’s and evolved into the IABC.
The AIBC has as its vision “to be the peak business association concerned with the promotion and facilitation of bilateral trade and investment between Australia & Indonesia.”
We provide a wide range of services to our members. For information on these benefits please refer to member benefits
Traditionally the AIBC membership has mainly comprised Australians involved in business with Indonesia, but we are now seeing more involvement from the local Indonesian business community, which provide us with a broader membership base, and improves the networking opportunities.
